WaveTronica B.V. was founded in 2018, as a spin off company from the UMCU, and owned exclusively by three private shareholders. WaveTronica’s main goal is to bring their products to the market, so that it can help to improve the lives of cancer patients. Aidin Haghnejad (CEO) is a hardware engineering expert with an entrepreneurial mindset that specializes in building Coils for MRI systems. Ingmar Voogt (CTO) is an experienced engineer for medical devices, with over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing MRI coils.
The company brings together experience in research, (multi-transmit) SAR simulations, MRI hardware development with the most recent knowledge on RF safety and simulations. WaveTronica aims to bridge the gap between researchers demanding beyond state-of-the-art MRI and large companies (i.e. GE, Siemens, Philips) that provide clinical MRI systems. WaveTronica provides the hardware including system integration and safety assessments to obtain unique images of patients with an MRI system: both metabolic imaging as well as ultra-high-resolution MR images. It is unique in that it develops state-of-the art MRI hardware, while simultaneously developing a full service (MaaS0 so that the hardware and analysis can be of value directly. Being in close contact to key stakeholders in high-end MRI research, the company has access to know-how to enable rapid prototyping for the research community and an established network with the world’s leading MRI producers (i.e. GE, Siemens, Philips).
